The Metro City Planning Authority struggled to communicate proposed developments to citizens and stakeholders. Traditional 2D plans and renderings failed to convey the true impact of new buildings on existing neighborhoods.
We built an AR application using ARKit and ARCore that overlays photorealistic 3D models of proposed buildings onto real-world locations. Users can walk around developments, view them at different times of day, and even simulate traffic and pedestrian flow.
Increased public engagement in planning consultations by 300%, reduced planning approval timelines by 40%, and won the Smart City Innovation Award 2023.
